#59 Flora — Mug

The woman dressed as the Roman goddess of flowers is almost certainly Hendrickje Stoffels, who ran Rembrandt's household and shared his life after his wife died. They never married — his wife's will would have cost him her money — and in 1654 the church council summoned Hendrickje, censured her for living with him, and barred her from communion.
