#45 The Garden of Earthly Delights — Mug

It is a triptych, and when the wings are shut the outside shows the earth on the third day of creation — a grey sphere, no people, no colour at all. Open it and you get paradise, an overwhelming garden, and hell, in full colour. Whoever commissioned it in around 1500 built in that transition on purpose: you had to close it to see the beginning.
